Sugar Wars By Veronica Majerol, the main idea of this article is that American in New York are getting over weight with sugar and other stuff that's not good for you or your body.
Something that really stood out to me is when it said if Mayor Micheal Bloomberg of New York had it his way Movie-theaters, restaurants, and etc won't be able to offer sodas or any other sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces. Mayor Bloomberg said, "obesity is a nationwide problem."
The government wants to protect them but people think it's stupid. Justin Wilson said, "Fundamentally, I don't think we need the government to protect us from ourselves."
I personally think soda is good but not good for you. Soda makes you brake out and gets you fat especially when you order the jumbo size cup. A lot of Americans are becoming obese because it's not enough working out and more of people stopping at the store or fast food restaurant and ordering the biggest meal they got.
My dad don't let us get over weight I remember when I was big and loved eating but when I start playing sports and running track I slim down. Every time we go to Mc.Donald, Checkers, or any fast food restaurants we wasn't allowed to get any drink. My mom would say y'all got water in the house and healthy drinks that goes great with y'all food and good for you.
So do you support Bloomberg's ban on sodas larger than 16 oz, or do you think people should be allowed to make their own decisions with regard to what they drink? 85
