Do we have the courage to stop this? By Nicholas D. Kristof, a lot of kids die from gun every year. Why can't they take guns as serious as cars.
In the article it say children ages 4 to 14 in America are 13 times as likely to be murdered with gun as children in other industrialized counties. In the article it also states that people of the world don't regulate guns as seriously as they do cars, and that the predominant reason kids are dying in massacres like this.
In the article Kristof said,"I understand shooting is fun! But so is driving, and we accept that we must wear seat belts, use headlights at night, and fill out forms to buy a car. Why can't we be equally adult about regulating guns.
I think this topic is just what we need to fix deaths in the city, state and country. They need to do more background checks on people wanting to by guns and asking what they need it for it should be a policy.
The main quote that stood out to me was when Nicholas D. Kristof said, "as on of my facebook followers wrote after i posted about the shooting it's is more difficult to adopt a pet than it is to buy a gun." I can agree with that statement because when my mom when to adopt a dog they wanted to see if she would treat the animal wrong and is she going be good to it basically like checking her background.
This never happened to me nor in my life I just heard about it on the new but I know people how have guns; and i wonder if they actually had to go through a process to get them. To sum everything up we need equal right on gun as we have on cars.
Good post. 95
